LSEG agrees to acquire credit-intelligence provider Octus for $3.535 billion in cash
LSEG will buy Octus from funds advised by Permira and Octus management for $3.535 billion in cash, financed by external debt, with closing expected in H1 2027 subject to regulatory approval. Octus serves private, illiquid and distressed credit with intelligence, data and workflows; LSEG says it has over 900 employees, 750 customers and 40,000+ users, and expects 2026 revenue above $300 million. Octus will sit in LSEG's Data & Analytics division. The deal follows reported talks covered here on 13 October.
Why it matters for deal teams: Private-credit data and its AI layer are consolidating into large market-data platforms, so teams using Octus (including CreditAI) may want to watch for changes in licensing, integration and data access through closing.
