Goldman Sachs and Phoenix Financial form a credit partnership; Phoenix expects to deploy more than $4bn
Goldman Sachs and Israel-based Phoenix Financial announced a strategic partnership across corporate, asset-backed, real estate and infrastructure debt. Phoenix expects to deploy more than $4 billion of client and corporate assets through Goldman Sachs Alternatives' strategies, from private investment-grade credit and senior direct lending to opportunistic credit. Goldman reports $230 billion of private credit assets as of June 30, 2026.
Why it matters for deal teams: Insurer and asset-manager partnerships remain a main channel for new private credit capital, alongside the retail redemptions seen elsewhere.
