Maturity wall by BDC

Fair value by contractual maturity year for 10 BDCs, from the Investment Maturity Date tag in the SEC BDC Data Sets. Across them, $6.66bn of $78.15bn dated fair value (8.5%) matures by 30 Jun 2028. Companion to PCT-012.

Why these 10 and not the 7 on the home page? ARCC, OBDC, FSK, GBDC, BCRED, MAIN and HTGC do not populate the maturity-date tag in these data sets (0 dated rows each, checked 16 Oct 2026). This demo uses the largest filers whose dated rows cover at least 90% of their tagged fair value.

How it was built

  1. Same row selection as the other BDC demos (point-in-time, cost and fair value tagged, latest filing per BDC) from soi.tsv in the 2026_07 and 2026_08 sets.
  2. Group fair value by the year of Investment Maturity Date. Rows without a date are counted in the row total but not in the bars.
  3. Self-check: where the filer's identifier text also spells out a maturity (e.g. “Maturity Date 12/20/2032”), it matched the tag in 4,728 of 4,763 rows. The 35 mismatches are listed by the build script and are not corrected.
  4. These BDCs' totals have not been reconciled to their 10-Q balance sheets yet, unlike the 7 BDCs in the main demos. Treat shares as approximate.

Script: data/build_maturity.py. Data: maturity-wall-2026q2.json. Derived from SEC filings, may contain extraction errors. A maturity date says nothing about credit quality. Not investment advice.
